Twin fluid nozzles for semi-dry flue gas desulfurization. The Lechler 1SR nozzle series was developed specifically for the atomization of lime milk or suspension.
1SR Nozzle Lances
Twin fluid nozzles for semi-dry flue gas desulfurization. Specially designed for the atomization of lime milk and suspension, the Lechler 1SR nozzle series is optimally adapted to the requirements of the semi-dry flue gas cleaning process and the Lechler LOC.
- Small spray angle: 15°
- High turndown ratio 10:1
- Adjusting the droplet spectrum: by changing the air/liquid ratio
- Very fine droplet spectrum: by secondary atomization of edge droplets by ring gap air
- Clogging resistant: thanks to large free cross-sections without internal fittings
- Typical pressure range: Liquid 1 – 6 bar, g; Spray air 1 – 6 bar, g
The basic principle of this nozzle is equivalent to the Laval nozzle. This dual fluid nozzle atomizes fluids into a fine filled cone. In doing so, a two-phase mixture of atomizing air and fluid (e.g. milk of lime) is created inside the nozzle. Further formation of the nozzle has the effect of accelerating this mixing, leading to an extremely fine atomization of the droplets. Due to the ring gap air, coarse droplets in the edge region of the spray jet are atomized into fine droplets through a secondary atomization.
By changing the air/liquid ratio, the droplet size or droplet spectrum can be adjusted over a wider range.
The large free cross-section of the nozzle also allows atomization of viscous fluids or fluids loaded with solids. Choosing the right material reduces wear, including corrosive substances, and allows use at higher temperatures.
Usage Areas:
- Injection of milk of lime into the spray absorber
- Injection of process water into the spray dryer
